<p>This will hopefully be much more efficent than venting on Twitter (although I do have to say that their customer service on Twitter responds very quickly). </p>
<p>The only thing missing from this app is a speed test (like <a href="http://www.speedtest.net/">Speedtest</a> has) as that would pinpoint the ACTUAL strength of the area (as shown below).</p>

<p>The same rule applies to the iPhone, which despite it&#8217;s awesomeness is unable to &#8220;just say no&#8221; to apps holding on to memory&#8211;even after you close them. </p>
<p>Fortunately there is an app called <a href="http://recessionapps.com/System.html">System Activity Monitor</a> (from <a href="http://recessionapps.com/">Recession Apps</a>) that can free up some much needed memory lest you encounter the &#8220;black screen of death!&#8221;</p>
<p><center><a href='http://www.iphoneandme.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/5AD822BA-CE58-4B4F-A6F6-3DF74973B421iphone_photo.jpg'><img src='http://www.iphoneandme.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/5AD822BA-CE58-4B4F-A6F6-3DF74973B421iphone_photo.jpg' border='0' width='250' height='375' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Costing $2.99, this System Activity Monitor (or SAM for short) gives you a basic overview of how much memory you have on your precious iDevice, and will allow you to free up the extra memory as needed.</p>
<p><center><a href='http://www.iphoneandme.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/E46EB374-7F80-4BD1-AD4F-446108A238BCiphone_photo.jpg'><img src='http://www.iphoneandme.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/E46EB374-7F80-4BD1-AD4F-446108A238BCiphone_photo.jpg' border='0' width='250' height='375' style='margin:5px'></a></center> </p>
<p>You can also check out your CPU processes as well as view the geekier settings on the iPhone such as IP address, MAC address, Wifi network, etc. (if you are into that sort of thing).</p>
<p><center><a href='http://www.iphoneandme.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/DC74D68D-B69A-4ABB-B680-97261972C9D9iphone_photo.jpg'><img src='http://www.iphoneandme.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/DC74D68D-B69A-4ABB-B680-97261972C9D9iphone_photo.jpg' border='0' width='250' height='374' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Last but not least you can kill off native programs (like Safari, Mail, etc.) with a quick finger tap, although that feature may also kill off SAM as well (you have been warned).</p>
<p><center><a href='http://www.iphoneandme.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/AEC250D5-9620-4A71-BB2F-50011B3CF403iphone_photo.jpg'><img src='http://www.iphoneandme.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/AEC250D5-9620-4A71-BB2F-50011B3CF403iphone_photo.jpg' border='0' width='250' height='375' style='margin:5px'></a></center> </p>
<p>While there are a few rivals to System Activity Monitor, I have yet to come across an app that is superior (although if you have discovered one feel free to sound off in the comment section below). </p>
